Festivals of Thailand
The festivals which are celebrated in Thailand are as follows :-
- Phi Ta Khon:- It is one of the famous festivals of Thailand. In this festival people dress up as ghosts, dance and perform plays.
- Sankranti:- It is similar to the playing of Indian Holi. People throw water by using guns or pichkari and often do rain-dance.
- New Year: -This festival is celebrated only in the winter season. Firecrackers are burnt during this occasion and people dress up as Chinese dragons and perform dance.
- Makha Bucha Day:– It is a significant festival for Buddhist celebrated during the third month of Lunar Eclipse. During this day teachings of Buddha is followed everywhere .
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day:- ring their mother to school and show respect and give gifts to their mother
- Wing Kwai: – It is a form of buffalo racing competition. It is done by riding at the back of the buffalo . It is similar to a horse race. Winners get a baht of 500.

Visit in Phuket
On 21st May 2012 I went to visit Phuket from Kolkata via Bangkok. I reached Phuket in the early morning. That night we had gone for a walk. Our hotel was Seaview Patong which was located near Patong Beach. Next day we had gone to James Bond Island via ship. Bathing in the sea is very good.We had also done canoeing in the sea.
Next day we went shopping, and we had a foot massage. Next day we went to a beach which isPhi Phi island via catamaran. We had done swimming in the sea and had lunch in Phi Phi hotel. At night while going for a walk we saw Pole Dance where boys dress up as girls and dance by using fancies. Next day we had taken pictures with elephants, and we had done trekking with elephants . We had also taken pictures with vultures. We had seen various jewelleries. This was one of the remarkable trips.
About Bangkok and Pattaya
Visit to Pattaya in the month of May 2014 is very good. We had travelled to Pattaya from Kolkata via Bangkok. We had hired car to reach to Pattaya at night. Next day we had gone to Khaonio open zoo where we had been moved to a cage and animals would come near to cage. We had spotted chimpanzees, hyenas, pandas and white lion.
On that night we had gone for a walk near sea beach. Next day we had gone to Coral islands via speedboat. We had done scuba diving where we had spotted corals, fishes and various aquatic animals. On that night we had done foot massage which was done on an amazing way. On next day we had gone to Sriracha Tiger Zoo. We had gone to a room w tiger cubs and we had taken pictures with big tiger. We had seen tiger show , crocodile show and elephant show. In the crocodile show people get their photos taken with crocodiles.
In elephant show people lie on the place and elephant attack them. On that night we had seen Tiffani show which is hosted by ladyboys of Thailand. In Thailand one ladyboy dresses as half boy and half girl and performs a dance. There is only one dance performance on Hindi song where makeup artists dress the performers just like the Bollywood actors and actresses. Next day we had visited Bangkok. We had done varieties of shopping there.
We had ridden on a sky train which is similar to riding an Indian metro railway. Next day we had gone to Bangkok zoo. We had lunch in Bangkok zoo. We had seen Orangtun show. It is the boxing show between two apes named Orangtun which looks like a chimpanzee. We had taken pictures with Orangtun. We had sea lion shows. They act like humans. They can clap like humans. We had seen a dolphin show. In this show people can also swim with dolphins and play with dolphins. It is considered as one of the entertaining show.
