Winter cold is a form of common cold which is caused by several viruses. It occurs when someone eats ice-cream or cold foods during winter. When someone is exposed to an open area which is uncovered especially at night, can catch cold . When someone drinks soft drinks with ice, he or she can suffer from cold. Taking shower in cold water can lead to common cold.
It affects in nose and throat. It can be cured within. 7 to 10 days. For smokers it may take months to cure. In winter cold medicines are needed for curing from common cold.

How to prevent winter colds and flu
A)Person must clean their hands :- When an person is suffering from flu coughs and sneezes , air can spray to a healthy person. So children who are going to school must wash their hands when they touch the surfaces. They should wash their hands for 20 minutes by using soap and warm water everyday before eating and returning to home.
B)Touching of face should be strictly prohibited:– Children cannot realise that touching of face cannot lead to several infections. Children rub their arms, scratch their noses and eat nails which leads to flu. So touching of face must be prohibited and hands must be sanitised in a proper way by using sanitisers.
C) Flue shot must be done :– The children who are going to school or taught at home must get a flue shot vaccine. It is one of the best way in which viruses can get protected. It helps in providing vaccine to the body. It can be done at any time according to their own choices and needs.
D)Surfaces should be kept neat and clean:- Even when someone is clean there are hidden germs found. So it is required to keep the surfaces neat and clean. Surfaces must whipped properly and disinfect wipes can be used for keeping the people fit and healthy.
E)Sleep should not be skipped :- Sleeping is required so that immunity can be provided to the body. If there is improper sleep, person may suffer from infections. After Covid 19 pandemic most people do social distancing and wear masks . So it’s required to stick to a sharp routine.
F)There should be a proper nutrition:– Proper balanced diet helps in promoting proper growth, development and helps to strengthen the immunity. Adequate function is required for proper functioning. A wide varieties of nutritious food ensures that children and adolescents must have proper nutrients so that they can stay strong. Varieties of colourful fruits and vegetables contain rich in antioxidants which helps to fight against the infection.
G)Person must get involved in physical activities:- Physical activities help in boosting the immune system which helps people from getting common cold and flu during winter. It helps in stimulating the white blood cells which helps to fight against infection. It helps to clear the bacteria from the lungs which helps from catching common cold during winters.
H) Stress must be reduced :– During Covid 19 pandemic children are affected by stress. Children health got affected during Covid 19. For reducing that people must read books or can listen to musics. It should be a part of regular routine.
I)People should protect themselves:– During covid 19 people had to wear masks and gloves when touching surfaces. Masks and gloves help in preventing the risk of flu. Flu occurs when an infected person gets contact with healthy persons as well as touching the dirty surfaces.
J) Social distance should be maintained :– Social distance refers to maintaining a distance between infected and healthy person. This helps in preventing from flu and common cold. If a person suffering from common cold, must distance himself or herself from family and must sleep in separate room after he or she recovers room must be sanitised in a proper way. Bed sheets pillow covers and blankets must be washed.
